Duties & Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and research new market opportunities, customer segments, and strategic partnerships aligned with VIAVI’s product portfolio and corporate objectives.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies and plans to penetrate new markets and acquire new customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, technical leaders, and procurement teams, within prospective client organizations.
- Conduct thorough market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer needs assessments to inform business development initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with sales, product management, and engineering teams to define compelling value propositions and tailor solutions to meet specific customer requirements.
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations, proposals, and business cases to prospective clients.
- Negotiate and close complex business deals, ensuring alignment with company revenue goals and profitability targets.
- Track and report on business development activities, pipeline status, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Represent VIAVI Solutions at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our brand and solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and threats.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management within the telecommunications, networking, or test & measurement industries.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying, developing, and closing significant new business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, service assurance, and telecommunications technologies (e.g., 5G, fiber optics, cloud native networks).
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong drive to succeed.
- Able to travel frequently as required to meet business objectives.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
