Role and Responsibilities
- Using RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
- Carry out RF test execution and generate status and test reports.
- Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance.
- Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
- Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
- Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
- Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
- Understand proper use and handling of sensitive RF circuits and equipment.
- Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
Management Information
- The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at our office in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego, CA.
- Rare local travel, as required by Silvus (i.e. Irvine, West LA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
- Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
- Hands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
- Experience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of RF guidelines for PCB layout.
- Test automation using Python or LabView.
- Able to work independently and work on several projects concurrently.
- Detail-oriented and a firm commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Problem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
- Indoor air-conditioned facility.
- Office environment.
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.
- Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
- Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
- Kneel or squat to access lower shelves.
- Walk/Move in the labs.
Compensation
$100,000 - $140,000 / annually
