Radio Frequency (RF) Design Engineer
About the role
Join Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, as a Radio Frequency (RF) Design Engineer. Reporting to the Director of RF Engineering, this role involves active participation in all aspects of the design process to develop the RF subsystem for Silvus' StreamCaster MANET product line.
Responsibilities
- Antenna to baseband RF subsystem design using discrete circuitry or highly integrated RFICs.
- Discrete design includes PLL, LNA, Mixers, PA etc.
- Implementing or supervising schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Radio frequency performance characterization, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure circuit board design and overall radio product can pass emission and immunity regulations.
- Troubleshoot radio frequency-related production yield problems.
- Improve design for manufacturability.
- Travel Requirement - Rare local travel, as required by Silvus (i.e. Irvine, West LA).
- Perform other related duties, of which the above are representative.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience.
- Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging.
- Hands-on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues.
- Experience using RF simulation tools (i.e. AWR Microwave Office, Altium).
- Must be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen) due to U.S. government contracts.
