Radiation Therapist - PRN

About the role

This position involves performing daily imaging and delivering prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to patients safely and accurately. The radiation therapist applies technical knowledge of equipment, clinical treatment setup, anatomical landmarks, and treatment documentation to ensure precise patient care.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiation therapy equipment and set up treatments according to prescribed plans.
• Interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare staff, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
• Monitor patient safety during treatment and accurately document care in patient records.
• Assess and understand patients' physical and emotional status, reporting observations to appropriate staff.
• Work with diverse patient populations, addressing growth and development needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited radiation therapy program.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Licensure through the appropriate state board is necessary if applicable.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and patient confidentiality.
