Radiation Therapist, Lead

Shift Description

• Warms up and performs QA tests on simulator, CT, BAT, and treatment equipment following established procedures prior to daily use.
• Reports any deviation to the physicist.
• Uses radiation detection equipment in a safe and careful manner.
• Inspects ancillary devices prior to use and reports any problems to the appropriate person.
• Verifies functioning of the radiation detectors.
• Checks blocks for proper orientation and accuracy before filming.
• Performs weekly QA on simulator and treatment equipment following established procedures.
• Assists in maintenance of the dark room and reports any problems for corrections.
• Maintains accurate records of all equipment service, function, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA-accredited school of Radiation Therapy is required.
• Knowledge of principles, techniques, and methodology of radiation therapy is required.
• Behavior and personality conducive to working with cancer patients is necessary.

Licensure

• Current State of Florida License as a Certified Radiology Technologist (CRT) ARRT (T) or eligible.
• Current BLS Certification required.
