About the Role
Performs radiation therapy treatments and simulations as directed by the Radiation Oncologist, ensuring accurate treatment delivery and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and deliver prescribed radiation treatments, prepare treatment rooms and equipment, and verify parameters.
- Conduct clinical and CT-based simulations for tumor localization, fabricating immobilization devices, and administering contrast agents.
- Maintain accurate treatment records, perform daily charge capture, and monitor patient responses during treatment.
- Provide patient education on skin care, diets, and managing reactions, while supporting clinical skill development.
- Execute quality assurance procedures on treatment equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and comply with organizational standards.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, support training of students, and assist in emergency or additional duties as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree required; prior experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification from ARRT (T) or eligibility to obtain it within one year.
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Knowledge of radiation procedures, excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and clinical judgment.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, work independently, and follow safety standards.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of specialized procedures such as SRS, SBRT, and brachytherapy.
Additional Information
This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, with responsibilities including supporting quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and training activities. The position requires day shift work in a healthcare setting focused on delivering compassionate patient care.
