About the role
The Radiation Therapist performs simulations and administers radiation treatments under the guidance of a Radiation Oncologist.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and deliver prescribed radiation therapy plans, ensuring accurate setup and treatment execution.
- Perform clinical and CT-based simulations for tumor localization, fabricate immobilization devices, and administer contrast agents as needed.
- Maintain detailed treatment and simulation records, monitor patient responses, and provide patient education on skin care and side effects.
- Execute quality assurance procedures on equipment, adhere to safety standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support department quality improvement initiatives and participate in call duties and training of students.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required; prior experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Certified by ARRT (T) or eligible with certification within one year; South Carolina license if applicable.
- Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and sound clinical judgment.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and knowledge of advanced procedures (preferred).

This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, with responsibilities including patient safety, documentation, and supporting training efforts. The role requires adherence to high standards of care, safety, and organizational policies.
