Radiation Therapist - Full-Time

About the role

The Radiation Therapist performs simulations and administers radiation treatments under the guidance of a Radiation Oncologist.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and deliver prescribed radiation therapy plans, ensuring accurate setup and treatment execution.
• Perform clinical and CT-based simulations for tumor localization, fabricate immobilization devices, and administer contrast agents as needed.
• Maintain detailed treatment and simulation records, monitor patient responses, and provide patient education on skin care and side effects.
• Execute quality assurance procedures on equipment, adhere to safety standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support department quality improvement initiatives and participate in call duties and training of students.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; prior experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Certified by ARRT (T) or eligible with certification within one year; South Carolina license if applicable.
• Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and sound clinical judgment.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and knowledge of advanced procedures (preferred).

Additional Information

This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, with responsibilities including patient safety, documentation, and supporting training efforts. The role requires adherence to high standards of care, safety, and organizational policies.
