Radiation Therapist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in a busy Oncology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with experience delivering radiation therapy using advanced treatment technologies in a patient-focused environment.

Contract details include a 13-week assignment, 40 hours per week, with a day shift schedule of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and 8-hour shifts. The weekly pay package includes a gross weekly pay of $3,406, with $2,160 taxable and $1,246 non-taxable weekly stipend.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.
• Operate Varian TrueBeam, Varian IX, and ARIA treatment management software.
• Verify patient identity, positioning, and treatment parameters before each procedure.
• Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to any concerns or emergencies.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
• Perform routine quality assurance and equipment safety checks.
• Educate and support patients throughout their course of radiation therapy.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and the multidisciplinary oncology team to provide exceptional patient care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and radiation safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active New York Radiation Therapist License (must be in hand at the time of submission).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Radiation Therapy experience.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current BCLS (BLS) certification.
• Experience with Varian TrueBeam, Varian IX, and ARIA software is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, radiation safety, and oncology patient care.
• Must maintain all required state and federal licenses and certifications.

Traveler Requirements

A 100-mile radius rule applies. Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility based on their permanent address.
