About the role
CHI Health Saint Elizabeth, founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in 1889, is a full-service, 260-bed, nonprofit regional medical center in Lincoln, Neb. St. Elizabeth specializes in the treatment areas of newborn and pediatric care, women’s health, burn and wound, cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine, orthopedics and neuroscience.
Responsibilities
- Greets patient utilizing AIDET, verifies patient in identification, reviews chart for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions
- Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions
- Prepares patients for treatment. Positions equipment according to plan
- Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed
- Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patient as prescribed by physician
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the filed by reading appropriate journals, books, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and education opportunities
- Makes sure treatment is recorded in EMR and proper notes are taken for accurate treatment and set-up
- Maintains a safe and supportive environment for patients during treatment
- Monitors patient throughout treatment process by checking video monitors and intercom
- Informs physician anytime patient experiences distress or side effects related to treatment process
Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program
- ARRT (T) board certification within 6 months of hire
- BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire

- Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems
- Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment
- Ability to manage patients
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions

$30.76 - $45.76 /hour
