Radiation Safety & Protection Coordinator-Full Time-Day

About the role

To educate staff, monitor results, and coordinate all radiation safety and radiation protection needs across Danbury Hospital, New Milford, Norwalk Hospital and affiliates.

Responsibilities

• Educate staff on radiation safety and protection protocols
• Maintain and update radiation safety records
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with radiation safety standards
• Monitor and report on radiation safety metrics
• Provide training and guidance to staff on radiation safety practices
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and guidelines

Requirements

• Nuclear medicine certification CNMT or ARRT (N)
• Radiation Therapy Certification ARRT (RT)
• BS in Radiologic Sciences preferred
• Minimum of five years' experience in the field of nuclear medicine or Radiation Therapy
• Desired: Teaching experience

Qualifications

• Knowledge of radiation safety, protection and physics
• Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.

Skills

• Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
• Occupational: Some occupational risk
