Radiation Protection Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Radiation Protection Operations Supervisor is responsible for providing first-line supervision of Entergy full-time and temporary Radiation Protection Operations personnel. They manage daily RP Operations tasks including on-shift activities and ensure these tasks are performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Manages a multi-disciplined group possibly including union and contractor oversight.
• Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process.
• Functions as a team leader.
• Aids in the RP budget development and function within the budget.
• Communicates with all levels of the organization, including representing the department at meetings.
• Ensures assigned tasks are performed as safely and efficiently as possible.
• Promotes time-saving tools and work methods.
• Safeguards all RP activities within regulatory and procedural guidelines.
• Manages personnel and resolves employee conflicts or concerns.
• Interacts with other Entergy sites to maximize resource sharing of RP personnel.
• Interacts with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
• Shares technical Radiation Protection information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
• Participates in the shared resources program.
• Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: B.S. in Health Physics or related technical degree may be credited for 3 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of experience in RP Operations.
• Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Technical proficiency in the RP Operations area, technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation, proficiency with current computer business applications.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in craft or discipline he/she supervises.
