Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance on a monthly, annual, and ongoing basis guided by professional recommendations of the AAPM, including but not limited to linear accelerator, brachytherapy, and treatment planning software QA.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as chart reviews, plan checks, patient-specific quality assurance, treatment plans for special procedures (SRS/SBRT/HDR), and supervising special procedure treatments and simulations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring adequate physics and treatment planning coverage, timely performance of patient and machine QA, and providing direct supervision of regional dosimetrists.
  • Advise and collaborate with physician and professional colleagues in clinical problem-solving and technical troubleshooting, guiding decision-making, quality assurance development, and ensuring adequate training for new technologies or techniques.
  • Serve as team lead for acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment and software.
  • Participate in the education of radiation therapy students through didactic and clinical demonstrations.
  • Maintain expertise in the latest technologies and techniques in radiation oncology treatments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physics Program required.
  • Ph.D. from an accredited Medical Physics Program preferred.
  • Board Certification in Therapeutic Physics by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent institution.
  • Five (5) years of Radiation Oncology Physics experience.
  • Recent experience with the Mosaiq R&V system preferred.
  • Experience with Varian TrueBeam and Ethos preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of C# programming for API scripting.
  • Proven ability to lead a team in process improvement and implementation of new technologies.
  • Expertise in Eclipse, OnCentra, BrainLab elements planning systems, Velocity deformable registration software, and the RadFormation suite of software packages.
  • Proficiency with ArcCheck, SRS MapCheck, IC Profiler, and the SunCheck Suite of applications.
