About the role
The Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Mission Area within the Systems Engineering Center at Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking Radar Systems Engineers. This role is onsite in El Segundo, California.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including trade studies, development of CONOPS, system architecture, requirements definition and allocation, traceability, integration, verification, and qualification
- Support development, analysis, documentation, and verification of system requirements using DOORs
- Radar mode algorithm development and system performance assessments
- Conduct modeling, simulation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, and C++
- Perform daily tasks in a classified and controlled lab environment
- Support verification, validation, flight test, production, and post-deployment activities
- Perform trade studies, functional/physical analyses, and MBSE-based system design
- Prepare and present technical reports, findings, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics) and prior relevant experience in Systems Engineering with radar algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration, data analysis using Matlab, and configuration management
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active DoD Secret clearance preferred
- Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics) preferred
- Knowledge of radar fundamentals preferred
- Programming experience in Python and MATLAB preferred
- Experience troubleshooting electronic or system-level issues, signal processing, control theory, statistics, information theory, and detection methods, Imaging/pattern recognition, Data filtering (Kalman, batch, optimal estimation) preferred
