Major Responsibilities
- Captures patient flow and reports necessary information to appropriate resources.
- Maintains inpatient holding area to ensure patient needs are met and minimizes wait times.
- Verifies patient information using computer-based systems and prints daily schedules.
- Answers phone calls and assists with scheduling exams.
- Prepares rooms and assists technologists with procedures, utilizing sterile technique.
- Assists with patient transfers and monitors Patient Transport system.
- Confirms patient appointments and provides relevant information.
- Maintains supply levels and performs secondary erasure of CR cassettes.
Position Qualifications
- High school education with specialized courses in medical terminology, computer training, and medical assisting preferred but not required.
- 3 months of related experience in basic office and patient care procedures, medical terminology, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of personal computers and data terminals for recording, verifying, and retrieving information.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and provide exceptional service.
