About the role
This position involves installing racks and panels for solar systems, supporting solar install crews and learning proper equipment handling.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the job site by staging tools, clearing debris, and assisting layout tasks.
- Assist in assembling and mounting racking frames under direction.
- Help secure solar modules to racking using proper fasteners and alignment techniques.
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely.
- Help manage job site inventory and equipment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Receive and retain training and direction from your Foreman or Journeyworker.
- Follow directions and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
- Communicate any delays.
Qualifications
- All employees must demonstrate the ability to promote and embody the Premise Core Values.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Rack & Paneling Installer 1 / Construction Craft Labor Apprentice 1 or 6–12 months of experience in construction or solar installation preferred.
- Familiar with basic tool handling and safe work practices.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to adhere to safety standards and practices.
- Travel overnight to remote job sites up to 80% of the time.

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, lift, squat, push, pull, climb stairs, ladders, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a telephone, power tools, and equipment.
- The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs.
- Exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold, and wet or humid.
- May work in high places, and/or work around moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and other equipment.
- The employee must have the ability to work overtime and to travel to remote job sites approximately 60 – 80% of their work week which will include overnight stays.
