Rack & Paneling Installer 2 / Construction Craft

About the role

This position involves installing racks and panels for solar systems, supporting solar install crews and learning proper equipment handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the job site by staging tools, clearing debris, and assisting layout tasks.
• Assist in assembling and mounting racking frames under direction.
• Help secure solar modules to racking using proper fasteners and alignment techniques.
• Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely.
• Help manage job site inventory and equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Receive and retain training and direction from your Foreman or Journeyworker.
• Follow directions and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner.
• Communicate any delays.

Qualifications

• All employees must demonstrate the ability to promote and embody the Premise Core Values.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Rack & Paneling Installer 1 / Construction Craft Labor Apprentice 1 or 6–12 months of experience in construction or solar installation preferred.
• Familiar with basic tool handling and safe work practices.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
• Ability to adhere to safety standards and practices.
• Travel overnight to remote job sites up to 80% of the time.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, lift, squat, push, pull, climb stairs, ladders, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a telephone, power tools, and equipment.
• The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs.
• Exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold, and wet or humid.
• May work in high places, and/or work around moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and other equipment.
• The employee must have the ability to work overtime and to travel to remote job sites approximately 60 – 80% of their work week which will include overnight stays.
