About the role
The Campus Service Officer program is a support unit within the CSU Police Department. Campus Service Officers are students trained by the police department to provide support to the CSUPD year-round, including during events such as football games, concerts, and rallies.
Seeking a self-motivated, multi-tasking, organized student employee who can demonstrate verbal and social communication skills. Students do not need a desire to work in law enforcement to apply; Campus Service Officers come from many backgrounds and academic majors.
Responsibilities
- SafeWalk services
- Housing patrols
- General patrols
- Building lock-up
- Bike registration
- Community outreach
Schedule
- May work up to 25 hrs/week, but average 15 hrs/week.
- Most shifts are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week, with additional times scheduled throughout the year.
- Availability during large campus events (football, concerts, etc.) may be required.
- Must be willing to work during the fall and spring semesters.
- Limited hours are available for University breaks, but not required.
- Summer hours are available.
Start date is expected to be in mid-September.
Pay
Entry-level hourly rate is $16.50/hr. Pay raises are available and determined by on-the-job experience.
Requirements
- Must be a current Colorado State University student.
- Background check required for all final candidates.
Number of openings: 5–7 positions available depending on the number of qualified candidates.
