Duties
- Must be familiar, or be willing to become familiar with, the Eddy 300 Computer Lab printers, how they function, and how to replace paper, toner, and other supplies.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision.
- Must be dependable to facilitate established work schedules and/or coordinate substitute from approved lab monitor roster.
- Must be flexible and willing to work opening shifts (7:30 A.M.), closing shifts (7 P.M.).
Required Job Qualifications
- The Lab Monitor must be familiar with the computing and printing equipment in the open Lab.
- The monitor should be reliable to meet the work schedule and accountable for all activities that transpire in the Open Lab during their shift.
- The candidate should possess basic customer service skills and empathy for the needs and problems computer lab patrons encounter.
- The candidate should be a problem solver.
Essential Duties
- Loading paper, clearing paper jams, and properly documenting printer problems found
- Follow all processes and procedures outlined in the Lab Monitor Handbook
- Performing Classroom and Lab checks as directed
- Aiding customers with general software usage problems and/or directing them to resources who may be of assistance
- Requesting job tickets for problem resolution by the Liberal Arts IT Help Desk
- Checking out equipment to faculty and students using an inventory management system
- Maintaining and ensuring the inventory management system information is correct and up-to-date
