About the role

This entry-level position is designed to be an introduction to the insurance industry while providing a professional work experience. The Claims Intern is responsible for assisting with the claims process by handling claims and supporting fellow Claims Adjusters.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the claims process by handling claims and supporting fellow Claims Adjusters.

Requirements

• Ability to work between 25-28 hours per week, with flexibility during weekdays.
• Skills in communication, customer service and organization.
• Good personal computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must meet Claims Internship Program requirements and have reached an education level of full-time college sophomore or junior.
• Manages sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
• Must be available for employment from August through December, and be able to coordinate schedule with school ending, Shelter job needs and start dates.
• Able to maintain work schedule and work well with others in an office or field environment.
• Able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
