[R] General Sales Manager
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and tactics to achieve dealership sales goals.
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Monitor sales performance and provide coaching and feedback to sales staff.
- Ensure compliance with all dealership sales policies and procedures.
- Foster a customer-centric, hospitality-based culture within the dealership.
- Oversee the customer experience from initial contact to post-sale follow-up.
- Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Analyze dealership financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage sales budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage pricing strategies.
- Provide leadership and direction to the sales team.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments within the dealership.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Represent the dealership at industry events and conferences as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
- 3+ years experience as an automotive General Sales Manager or Sales Manager with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of the automotive industry and sales processes.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and dealership management systems.
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements
- Sitting: The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.
- Standing and Walking: There may be times when the general sales manager needs to stand, walk around the dealership, or attend meetings.
- Reaching and Bending: The manager may need to reach for files, supplies, or equipment.
- Lifting: Occasionally, there might be a need to lift or move documents, supplies, or equipment.
