R&D Technician II

Responsibilities

  • Build cable harnesses (crimp, solder, heat shrink)
  • Inspect complex CCAs for defects, including taking high quality photos, digitally enhancing, and archiving them
  • Follow test procedures to verify CCA functionality
  • Operate and maintain solder rework stations
  • Solder fine pitch surface mount components
  • Operate and maintain electrical test equipment such as PNA and PNA-X Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Noise Figure Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Digital Multimeters, DC Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Arbitrary Function Generators, and Phase Noise Measurement Systems
  • Perform RF and Microwave electrical testing to validate product compliance
  • Provide electrical and environmental stress test support at various stages
  • Generate and assemble technical reports with results from Network Analyzer, Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, or other test equipment
  • Create and/or update test procedures and work instructions
  • Able to understand and work from verbal instructions, test specifications and procedures, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Inventory equipment and supplies and order replacements when necessary

Qualifications

  • Operate and maintain 3D Printer
  • Setup and calibrate electrical test equipment such as PNA and PNA-X Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Noise Figure Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Digital Multimeters, DC Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Arbitrary Function Generators, and Phase Noise Measurement Systems
  • Hand solder fine pitch surface mount components to PCB
  • Operate and maintain various machine shop equipment including drill press, welder, mill, CNC, and bandsaw
  • Use hand tools to assemble racks of special test equipment
  • Able to understand and work from verbal instructions, and CAD drawings
  • Measure finished pieces to verify they are within allowable tolerances and other specifications
  • Operate forklift
