R&D Technician I
Provide pilot plant support for R&D customers, Manufacturing, and Sales Support. Conduct pilot plant startups and shutdowns, monitor and adjust process conditions, troubleshoot, and prepare and collect samples while promoting safety excellence. Apply Honeywell Accelerator principles and Process Safety Fundamentals to area work processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Collect, organize, interpret, and compare data against expected performance.
Responsibilities
- Lift, handle, and dispense 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums
- Occasional lifting and manipulation of bags, samples, and other objects up to 35 pounds
- Handling of chemicals and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Wear a full-face respirator
- Understand, per OSHA guidelines, any facial hair that interferes with the seal of the respirator is not permitted
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts: 2 weeks on day shift (6:00am-6:00pm) & 2 weeks on night shifts (6:00pm-6:00am), including some weekends and holidays
- Schedule starts with a 48-hour week, then goes to a 36-hour week, rotating every 4 weeks
- Overtime is eligible
- Detail oriented, resourceful, and able to work both independently and with support/off-hours staff
- Strong communication skills
- Compliance with HS&E policies and procedures
- Creative problem solving, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
- Able to safely accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficient in arithmetic with working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Previous hands-on technician experience is preferred
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status) due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $44,800 - $56,000. This salary information serves as a general guideline.
