Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect measurements from designated flocks at specific stages of production using a variety of methods and equipment.
- Collect biological samples for genomic analysis.
- Affiliate with the implementation of new measurement techniques and research procedures as directed by the R&D Director.
- Record, organize, and maintain accurate project data and records.
- Follow all animal welfare, biosecurity, safety, and company procedures.
- Affiliate with routine flock observations and other breeding program activities as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in an agriculture-related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to develop a practical understanding of pedigree breeding programs.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in poultry facilities for extended periods.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to dust, feathers, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
