What You'll Be Doing As an R&D Technician, you will play a key role in assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities Complete manufacturing and assembly work orders according to established specifications and schedulesAssemble mechanical and electronic components using detailed drawings, prints, and work instructionsReview Bills of Materials (BOMs) and verify all required components are available before starting productionPerform product testing, troubleshooting, and quality inspectionsIdentify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and assembly-related issuesOperate electronic testing equipment and power tools safely and efficientlyAnalyze test results and assist with corrective actions when issues ariseSupport Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, root cause investigations, and quality improvement initiativesAssist with customer return investigations, non-conformances, and preventative actionsCollaborate with Engineering, R&D, Production, and Manufacturing teams on product development and process improvementsCollect, record, and maintain manufacturing and quality dataCreate and update KPI charts, graphs, and production metricsHelp identify discrepancies within labor hours, procedures, and Bills of Materials Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, production, technician, or related environmentExperience with assembly, troubleshooting, testing, or quality inspection activitiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to read and follow prints, diagrams, and work instructionsBasic computer skills for data entry and documentation Preferred Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Manufacturing Technology, or related fieldTrade School certificationExperience with:Electronics assemblyMechanical assemblyProduct testingQuality Assurance / Quality ControlPrototype or R&D environmentsLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts Ideal Backgrounds We Welcome Candidates With Experience As R&D TechnicianEngineering TechnicianManufacturing TechnicianAssembly TechnicianTest TechnicianElectronics TechnicianProduction TechnicianMechanical Assembly TechnicianLaboratory TechnicianQuality Technician 2026 graduates with hands-on technical experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopewell Junction, NY. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
