R&D SW Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new test cases and plans based on PRDs and functional specs.
• Focus areas include L2/L3 technologies, feature interaction, warmboot, ISSU, scale, performance, customer use cases, customer defect uplifts, and API validation.
• Manage the software release cycle by setting up regression testing, monitoring/prioritizing test results, and reviewing builds.
• Analyze build compile errors and communicate build failures to the responsible parties.
• Optimize long-term maintainability of regression suites across various software branches and device variants.
• Adjust execution schedules and priorities in consultation with global QA teams, program management, the QA tools team, and lab/build managers.
• Identify offending commits in build breakages and debug regression failures to determine root causes.
• Review test libraries written by peer team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field and 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, specifically testing networking products.

Required Skills & Experience

• Networking Expertise: Strong knowledge of L2/L3 Technologies (VLAN, STP, Switching, Routing, NAT, Multicast, ECMP, ACL) and Data Center technologies (VxLAN, BGP, eVPN, MPLS).
• Experience with Ixia test equipment.
• Programming: Proficiency in Python, Go, TCL, data formats (HTML, XML, JSON) and MySQL. Ability to understand C, Perl and Unix Shell programming.
• Tools: Proven hands-on experience is necessary with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, bug tracking and project management tools such as JIRA, and version control systems like Git.

Compensation And Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $141,300 - $230,000. As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth. All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
