Quality Engineer
About the role
The Quality Engineer is a critical role for the organization, as our customer base has strict quality requirements. The incumbent reports directly to Quality Manager and will have a breadth of responsibilities with exposure to multiple disciplines. This position requires excellent communication skills, as well as technical acumen, time management or organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Interfaces with customers, sales, engineering and manufacturing to understand and support customer specific quality requirements
- Serves as the primary quality interface for new product development and new product launch
- Performs 1st article inspections
- Liaises with customer, prepares product and documents for source inspection
- Reviews quality of x-ray parts
- Develops and documents test standards
- Performs and documents results of life testing
- Reviews engineering change orders to ensure compliance with quality requirements
- Performs and documents all required self-release activities
- Maintains final pre-cap inspections
- Maintains quality requirements for military standards
- Participates on material review board as necessary
- Prepares and provides reports as necessary
- Maintains quality documentation
- Utilizes RBS tools to drive quality improvements
- Manages internal and external corrective actions using 8D process
- Analyzes internal reject trends and improvement opportunities
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering or technical, or AS Degree with relevant experience in electrical disciplines
- 3+ years of prior Quality Assurance experience
- Familiarity with ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality System requirements
- Electronics, Electrical or Electromechanical manufacturing experience is desired
Qualifications
- Must be familiar with ISO9001 & AS9100 Quality System requirements
- Experience working in quality role in manufacturing environment
- Experience with problem-solving tools/methodologies
