R&D Senior Engineer, Human Factors (Plymouth, MN)
About the role
A R&D Engineer, Human Factors role focused on driving new catheter-based and implantable technologies from concept through commercialization to treat vascular disease, while leading detailed design, testing, prototyping, and pre-clinical strategy. This position also plays a key role in shaping and strengthening Philips IGTD’s design controls and QMS processes as part of its next-generation product development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Creating design controls QMS work instructions
- Serving as a liaison between engineering and regulatory affairs
- Supporting research and development activities from Concept Phase through Commercialization
- Collaborating with cross-functional team members throughout product development phases to ensure program success
Requirements
- B.S. / B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years working in product development in the medical device industry
- Knowledge of catheter design/assembly processes (injection molded component design, extrusion, braiding, coiling, reflow, etc.)
- Class II and Class III Medical Device product development experience
- Human Factors experience required with design for manufacturability knowledge and applicable skills
Qualifications

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Pay
The pay range for this position in MN is $107,000 to $142,000
