R&D Senior Chemist - Skincare/Color

Responsibilities

• Formulate and facilitate development of innovative skin care products, line extensions, and product improvements.
• Supervise, mentor, teach, and lead junior chemists in skincare cosmetics formulation.
• Proactively scan and research new concepts, materials, technical opportunities and partnerships.
• Work in the production environment whenever necessary.
• Work with project managers/customers to develop the product forms and shade palettes they expect.
• Understand and comply with color regulations.
• Develop stability protocols for skincare products and monitor product stability.
• Advise on lab equipment needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or higher in a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years in developing R&D skin care formulations.
• Must have experience in OTC product development.
• SF and color formulation experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of formulations and scale-up.
• Good understanding of production equipment and their uses.
• Good understanding of the raw materials used in skincare cosmetics.
• Able to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds.

Pay

The approximate pay range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities.
