About the role
R&D Resident & Front Office Engineer for Dearborn, MI to develop automotive ultrasonic camera & radar components and resolve product issues at the customer site. Responsibilities include:
- Participate in design and process reviews
- Complete specifications and release parts
- Handle engineering change requests
- Interface with customer engineering and purchasing teams
- Support prototype builds and production sign-offs
- Provide input on timing and advanced product planning
- Develop and maintain engineering documents (DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R)
- Engage in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Close work orders and initiate data transfers into Vehicle Assembly Structure
- Analyze root cause of issues and develop corrective action plans
- Investigate alternative solutions and develop service plans and owner manuals
- Support issue resolution and explain customer position to internal teams
- Ensure delivery requirements are met
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field
- Three years of automotive engineering experience performing testing and system validation for interior and exterior automotive products (cameras, radar, and/or ultrasonic sensors) developed for OEMs
- Experience executing and validating test protocols and procedures
- Conducting technical requirements analysis per DVP&R and SAE or OEM test standards
- Using programming tools, data acquisition tools, and automotive data analysis tools for root cause analysis and incident resolution
- Deploying engineering processes and tools for operational efficiency
25% travel to Troy, MI required.
