R&D Project Manager

About the role

We are searching for an R&D Project Manager within our Electronics Engineering team to support our bedding business. As a key contributor, you will manage R&D projects from concept through delivery, ensuring people worldwide benefit from enhanced comfort. The team is collaborative, innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day execution of multiple R&D projects from concept through delivery.
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, timelines, and success criteria.
• Develop and maintain practical project plans, schedules, and deliverables aligned with engineering workflows.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, including hardware and software developers, to support effective product development.
• Monitor project progress and provide clear, concise status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Identify and communicate project risks, issues, and dependencies, proposing mitigation strategies as needed.
• Support structured project reviews and milestone checkpoints throughout the development lifecycle.
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of R&D project execution practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting or leading engineering, R&D, or product development projects.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across different engineering disciplines.
• Working knowledge of engineering development processes and product lifecycle concepts.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to influence project outcomes through collaboration rather than formal authority.

Skills

• Experience working in a cross-functional or matrixed project team environment (a plus).
• Familiarity with Agile, hybrid Agile/Stage Gate, Modified Agile for Hardware Development, or iterative development approaches (a plus).
• Exposure to both hardware and software development projects (a plus).
• Interest in continued growth in technical project or program management (a plus).
