About the role
The Advanced Solutions Team (AST) is seeking a Product Development Designer/Technician to join our fast-paced, highly technical organization. This role is responsible for creating 3D CAD models and 2D CAD drawings in accordance with industry standards as well as supporting prototype fabrication and testing. The position may also involve other related duties to support AST’s overall objectives. The role is located in Middletown, PA 17057.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools.
- Collaborate with engineers to layout, design, and detail components that meet design objectives.
- Update mechanical drawings and implement process engineering changes.
- Perform tolerance analysis and dimensional checks on designs.
- Support prototype fabrication and its coordination.
- Perform verification testing and interpret results for reporting.
- Work under minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in mechanical design or product development.
- Proficiency in PTC Creo and familiarity with PTC Windchill/PDMLink preferred.
- Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles.
- Experience in connector design is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in building and assembling prototypes, or a strong interest in developing these skills.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and experience working with your hands.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing technologies such as molding, machining, stamping, plating, and component assembly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Pay
Competitive base salary: $67,000 – $100,500 (subject to change dependent on physical location). Total compensation includes base salary, incentives, and benefits.
