R&D or Product Design / Development engineer

Responsibilities

• Support design and development activities for products within the current portfolio offerings.
• Support current products in terms of quality, manufacturing, supply continuity and cost improvement.
• Participate in executing technical and/or cross-functional project work.
• Contribute to a culture of innovation by proactively generating novel concepts to improve current product performance.
• Responsible for functional testing of devices and will be responsible for organizing experiments and results, interpreting data and developing reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an R&D or product design / development engineer in the medical device industry.
• Experience with designing and developing disposable medical device products for high-volume manufacturing methods such as injection molding, automated assembly and packaging processes.
• Experience with assessing material properties (PP, PE, elastomers) for impact to product.
• Relevant experience includes design considerations such as tight tolerances and design implications for quality control for high-volume manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated engineering and design skills.
• Experience with impact to functional performance based on variable material properties (PP, PE, PC, elastomers).
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, and influencing skills.
• Results driven and action oriented.
• Careful attention to detail to ensure accurate and precise execution of work tasks and procedures.
• Disciplined and well organized in documentation in a regulated environment.
• Design control for medical devices.
