Our client is a rapidly growing manufacturing organization seeking a bilingual (Spanish) HR Generalist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a blue-collar manufacturing background, experience with payroll, and familiarity with union staff. Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.

Pay: $50,000 - $72,000 a year

Responsibilities

• Design and build equipment, tooling, fixtures, and dies to support production activities
• Create and test components and assemblies for R&D purposes
• Design and build equipment, fixtures, tooling, or dies from concepts and sketches for production needs
• Improve and repair existing equipment, fixtures, tooling, or dies
• Assist tool room in die repair or changeover on a limited basis
• Design, build, debug, repair, and improve automation equipment and related support equipment
• Fabricate and fit machined components, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical assemblies
• Operate and maintain tool room machining equipment, measuring, gauging, and inspection equipment
• Maintain required record-keeping (e.g., daily time tickets)
• Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and debug mechanical devices according to print specifications
• Support Lean Manufacturing programs by following approved policies and procedures
• Maintain and sharpen shop tools as necessary
• Construct special and form tooling as needed
• Set up and test new or existing products with changes
• Assist with development of tooling, fixtures, and assembly process improvements
• Assist tool & die room in punch press die repair or changeover as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One-year certificate from college or technical school in machine shop, electrical, or mechanical training
• Advanced technical training preferred (e.g., applicable Associate’s Degree from a college or trade school)
• Five or more years of experience as a machine builder, toolmaker, or similar role
• Experience in manufacturing/service of electromechanical devices
• Working knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment, machining principles, electricity, and die making
• Bilingual in English-Spanish preferred

Skills

• Technical Knowledge: Up-to-date expertise in machining techniques, tooling/die repair and making, machine building, and electrical/electro-mechanical skills; ability to read and interpret detail and assembly drawings, concepts, or sketches; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, GMAW welding, sheet metal stamping, tube forming, part assembly/test, PLCs, and other controllers
• Flexibility: Ability to respond to frequent priority changes
• Interpersonal Communication: Positive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments; effective and diplomatic communication to ensure internal customer satisfaction
• Problem Resolution: Quick and effective problem-solving
• Prioritizing Tasks: Understanding of customer urgency and prompt handling of requests with the customer’s best interest in mind
