R&D Laboratory Support Technologist - Calibration & Maintenance, Onsite
About the role
We are seeking a R&D Laboratory Support Technologist to support our Calibration & Maintenance Team. This individual will perform Calibration and Maintenance of equipment but also perform a variety of duties in support of technical activities related to equipment lifecycle management and associated infrastructure in Center 7500.
Responsibilities
- Execute calibrations and maintenance on a variety of equipment such as ovens, furnaces, temperature chambers, vacuum systems, welders, laser markers, part-cleaning systems, and production testers.
- Troubleshoot and repair all types of production equipment including PLC control systems, computer hardware, and related sub-components.
- Run a variety of equipment and collect, analyze data.
- Review, revise, and back up computer software including Windows OS, LabVIEW, and various PLC software applications.
- Interface extensively with our Center customers and provide them with strong technical support and frequent communication of status.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a technical field such as electronics, manufacturing technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent (No degree + 4 years of experience)
- Experience in equipment maintenance which includes troubleshooting and repair
Qualifications
- Experience in calibration of equipment to customer standards
- Experience in equipment installation and utility requirements
- Experience in facilities management and construction management
- Ability to team effectively with others including peers, customers, and service providers
- Ability to work independently, manage and prioritize work, and work effectively under stressful situations
- Ability to work safely by applying critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to activity-level work that may change and evolve as the work progresses
- Ability to model behaviors that reflect Sandia's core values
Skills
- Strong technical skills in equipment maintenance and calibration
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment
- Knowledge of Windows OS and PLC software applications

Pay
$63,800 - $123,400 Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Schedule
Onsite work is required.
Additional Information
Applicants on this requisition may be interviewed by multiple organizations at Sandia National Laboratories. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work on-site.
