R&D Lab Technician II

Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an R&D Lab Technician II with our healthcare client in Round Lake, IL. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension. Pay: $20.00 - $26.67/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship. Schedule: Standard working hours 8-5 (can be adjusted +/- 1 hour if needed) Description: Work on assignments that are simple or moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Apply basic techniques and procedures to assigned projects. Responsibilities:Responsible for performing a wide variety of research and/or development laboratory tasks and experiments.May make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.Maintain medical device laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.May write experimental reports, summaries and protocols.May also develop and maintain record keeping for experiment performed.Perform limited troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.Individual usually is assigned routine assembly and testing portions of projects (e.g. Product performance and software script testing). Qualifications:Good written and verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills such as word processing, data entry and e-mailBasic science and/or math skillsTeam orientationMechanical or Electrical background would be preferredStrong documentation skillsFollowing procedures, but also being able to think outside the box and trouble shoot issues found Education & Experience:AA degree or higher1-2 yrs of mechanical or electrical experience is strongly preferred, or engineering grads with some intern experiencenormal basic computer skills Top 3 must haves:attention to detailexperience with technical documentationability to work on a team. Top Technical skills needed:troubleshooting using basic lab equipment such as scopesmeters, analytical balancesability to understand technical schematics and specifications.strong computer experience with Microsoft tools, and statistical tools. This is a position in an R&D lab which will usually require hands on/on-site work.
