R & D Lab Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Maintains the R&D Lab in a clean, organized, and compliant state, ensuring alignment with company standards
• Oversees scheduling, manages supplies and chemical inventory, and handles retains, waste identification, and disposal
• Captures, analyzes, and interprets lab results and manages the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Collaborates with the Product Development team on certification-related tasks, such as preparing and pre-testing UL material specimens
• Develops and documents new test methods and standard operating procedures, and proactively updates existing procedures based on test method improvements or clarifications
• Schedules and assigns employee tasks, providing work direction and feedback, and participates in performance reviews, new hire interviewing, and disciplinary actions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional related work experience and 0-1 year in a supervisory role
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is required
• Demonstrated ability to use excellent customer service skills to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
• Track record of responding promptly to customer needs while soliciting customer feedback to improve service
• Excellent technical skills and a commitment to continuous training and development opportunities
• Observes and adheres to safety and security procedures to identify and report on potentially unsafe conditions
• Uses equipment and materials properly and makes improvement suggestions
