R&D Healthcare Product Development Engineer

About the role

The Product Development Engineer is a hands-on technical specialist responsible for executing activities that bring new healthcare packaging products to life. They collaborate with Operations, Quality, Toolmakers, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure products meet specifications, schedule, and cost targets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plant trials, process development, design verification, and testing
• Operate and set up molding equipment
• Run DOE and process capability studies
• Troubleshoot tooling issues
• Develop test plans
• Support customer trials
• Contribute to design reviews and risk assessments
• Support project milestones within the Stage-Gate process
• Prepare technical documentation
• Assist in transitioning qualified products to production
• Adhere to quality and regulatory procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• 2-5 years’ experience with injection and blow molding
• Knowledge of statistical methods
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel as needed
