We are seeking a motivated Product Configuration & Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with a strong automation or controls background who wants to expand into electrical power distribution, medium-voltage equipment, product configuration, mechanical/electrical design, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure medium-voltage and low-voltage equipment sections using internal tools, manufacturer resources, and engineering standards.
  • Support product configuration for Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB, and other medium-voltage equipment platforms.
  • Assist with both mechanical and electrical configuration of equipment sections, including layouts, device placement, control components, and drawing package preparation.
  • Pull, review, organize, and maintain drawings needed for engineering, production, and sales support.
  • Help develop and maintain standard drawing libraries, configuration templates, equipment layouts, and repeatable design packages.
  • Develop and maintain product-specific HMI screens, navigation standards, alarm/status displays, metering views, and diagnostic pages for Maverick Power products.
  • Collaborate with the Automation Team in the development of EPMS/SCADA systems, including system architecture, tag structures, communication maps, data visualization, alarming, and integration of relays, meters, PLCs, and gateways.
  • Support development and validation of embedded control logic for automatic transfer and auto-throw-over schemes, including sequences of operation, permissives, interlocks, alarms, and fail-safe conditions.
  • Aid in PLC, relay, gateway, and HMI configuration standards that support repeatable product offerings and project-specific customer requirements.
  • Develop reusable automation content, including HMI templates, tag databases, I/O lists, control narratives, points lists, test procedures, and standard logic blocks.
  • Support functional testing, factory acceptance testing, and troubleshooting of automation, controls, EPMS/SCADA, and communication systems integrated into power distribution equipment.
  • Work with production teams to gain hands-on experience with equipment assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and quality verification.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Production, and Quality to resolve design, configuration, and manufacturability issues.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to standardization, engineering efficiency, drawing accuracy, and production readiness.
  • Aid in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems and power distribution equipment as needed.
  • Develop working knowledge of applicable electrical equipment standards, including UL, NEC, NEMA, ANSI/IEEE, and customer specifications.
