About the role
Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer with a passion for building high-quality applications using agile practices to join our Mainframe Security and Compliance team. In this role, you will be a key member of the development team, focusing on building, testing, and supporting leading-edge Mainframe Security solutions used by many of the world’s largest companies. This position is concentrated on the mainframe platform, with development in Assembler language.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality software design and architecture for applications on the mainframe platform.
- Build, test, and debug functional software solutions, leveraging your Mainframe expertise to modernize enterprise software.
- Collaborate with product management and fellow software engineers in an Agile environment to define software requirements and deliver solutions.
- Increase efficiency by automating tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
- Drive innovation and contribute to a fast-paced environment with a passion for continuous improvement and technology innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 3+ years of related experience.
- Proven Mainframe knowledge and skills.
- IBM Assembler Language (HLASM) proficiency.
- z/OS Operating system familiarity.
- Source control systems experience (Endevor, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience/Knowledge of z/VM Systems Programming and/or IMS Systems Programming.
- Experience working with an ESM (External Security Manager) and/or other mainframe products and systems.
- Experience with an online z/OS debugger (XDC / IPCS).
- Proficiency in Metal C and JCL.
- Scripting language experience.
Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent in a related field.
Five or more years of experience in software development or a related field.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is USD 91,100 to USD 146,000.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
