R&D Engineer (Must Have Design Control & Medical / Pharma Exp)

Location: Sandy, UT • 6-month contract • 40 hours/week • Pay rate: $20–30/hr • 1st shift (8 AM–5 PM) • W2 contract for US citizens or Green Card holders only

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
• Design control experience
• Medical or pharmaceutical industry experience (preference for candidates with all three)
• BS degree in engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred)
• 2–4 years of engineering experience, preferably in medical devices

Responsibilities

• Provide technical skill and engineering support for design and development of new and existing products
• Support current products in quality, manufacturing, supply continuity, and cost improvement
• Participate in technical and cross-functional project work
• Contribute to innovation by generating novel concepts for new products and product enhancements
• Understand customer needs through literature review, customer interviews, direct observation, competitive analysis, prototype evaluation, and clinical/simulated use studies
• Translate customer needs into engineering requirements and product, packaging, and process specifications
• Engineer robust, manufacturable products using strong engineering fundamentals
• Develop and execute test methods specifying measurement equipment, test set-up, measurement systems analysis, and data analysis
• Write detailed technical reports for design verification, analysis, and testing
• Ensure compliance with quality policies, procedures, and all local, state, federal, and client safety regulations
