Quote Specialist

About the role

The Quote Specialist provides quotes to customers by utilizing sales and technical knowledge for the preparation of quote packages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare itemized cost estimates of products or bid requests.
• Interact with the sales team, contractors, engineers, and purchasing to determine the best products to be used on the assigned projects.
• Interact with manufacturer representatives to obtain the best possible cost information.
• Work in collaboration with, and provide support and guidance to co-workers with the mutual goal of meeting or exceeding goals and objectives.
• Manage the quote process to ensure that all supporting documentation is received and submitted within the specified guidelines.
• Build rapport with customers and work to ensure they receive excellent service.
• Use computer databases to retrieve necessary customer and inventory information.
• Provide pricing, delivery, and other order information to customers.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Report and document Non-Conformances, Corrective Actions, and Continuous Improvements.
• Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards for the site.
• Make decisions within the limits of general standards or procedures.
• Report near misses and incidents and cooperate with investigations.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of product lines and pricing preferred.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word or equivalent applications.
• Ability to multitask.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in customer service or order processing preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
