Quick Serve Restaurant Associate

About the role

Cafe Associates at Red Barn Milk Bar are responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing cash registers accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every customer promptly with a positive attitude and smile.
• Listen to customer needs and deliver consistent service.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Perform cash register operations accurately and honestly.
• Respect and treat customers and fellow associates respectfully.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stock products, put merchandise away, wash dishes, and maintain a clean work area.
• Answer telephone calls and direct inquiries, provide information about Fair Oaks Farms brands and products, tours, restaurant/food options, and merchandise.
• Stay knowledgeable and up to date with company news and apply new knowledge to work.
• Stand for long periods of time and be able to multitask and help co-workers and other departments.
• Prepare and handle food products safely, participate in promotional events and sales, and clean and stay busy during slow times.

Qualifications and education requirements

• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Positive outgoing attitude.
• Knowledge of basic computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Retail sales experience preferred but not required.
• At least 16 years old by May 26, 2025.
• Previous experience in food service preferred.

Additional notes

• Part-time position, weekends are required.
• All employees are expected to learn general information of all departments and may be required to be cross-trained.
• All employees are expected to stay updated with Fair Oaks Farms, Dairy Adventure, Pig Adventure, Crop Adventure, Pork Education Center, BP and Dairycatessan Market, and Farmhouse Restaurant.
• Cross-training of some departments may require a minimum age of 18, in order to operate certain equipment.
• Must be able to pass random drug tests.
