Responsibilities

  • Test systems and components to ensure they are secure and working properly
  • Isolate systems or components that might have caused problems
  • Drive vehicles for testing purposes and inspect/refill fluid levels as necessary
  • Ensure proper tire pressure, clean and lubricate fittings
  • Install new oil drain plugs and oil filters, and communicate oil levels to teammates
  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
  • Repair or replace worn parts before vehicle breakdown or damage occurs
  • Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

Requirements

  • Must have a New York State Inspection License
  • Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities
  • Effective analytical and communication skills with eagerness to improve
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • ASE Certification or Technical degree (a plus)
  • One year of experience in a service department
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
