Responsibilities
- Test systems and components to ensure they are secure and working properly
- Isolate systems or components that might have caused problems
- Drive vehicles for testing purposes and inspect/refill fluid levels as necessary
- Ensure proper tire pressure, clean and lubricate fittings
- Install new oil drain plugs and oil filters, and communicate oil levels to teammates
- Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
- Repair or replace worn parts before vehicle breakdown or damage occurs
- Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks
Requirements
- Must have a New York State Inspection License
- Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities
- Effective analytical and communication skills with eagerness to improve
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- ASE Certification or Technical degree (a plus)
- One year of experience in a service department
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
