About the role

The Quick Care Registration Clerk is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and accurate registration services to patients receiving care in the Quick Care/urgent care setting. This position serves as one of the first points of contact for patients and is responsible for verifying patient information, completing registration and check-in procedures, collecting payments when applicable, and assisting with scheduling and administrative needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner.
  • Register patients accurately and efficiently using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, identification, and contact information.
  • Obtain and update required patient forms, signatures, and authorizations.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits as required.
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, and other applicable patient payments.
  • Answer phones, respond to patient questions, and direct calls to the appropriate department or staff member.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, and other departments to ensure a smooth patient registration and check-in process.
  • Assist patients with completing registration paperwork and navigating the check-in process.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Handle routine clerical duties, including scanning, filing, faxing, and processing documents.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous healthcare registration, medical office, customer service, or clerical experience preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and insurance verification preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn healthcare registration systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers.

Monday - Wednesday, 8am-8pm
