About the role

The Town of Queen Creek is seeking a Senior Recreation Technician to support the Parks and Recreation Department in delivering high-quality recreational programs and maintaining facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreation programs, classes, and special events.
  • Supervise and train part-time staff, volunteers, and seasonal employees.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are properly maintained, clean, and safe for public use.
  • Monitor program participation, collect fees, and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Assist with set-up, tear-down, and operation of events and programs.
  • Perform routine inspections of parks, facilities, and equipment to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with other town departments and community organizations to enhance program offerings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Parks and Recreation Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in recreation program coordination, facility supervision, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and ability to obtain a Town of Queen Creek driving permit.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR required within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by program schedules.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and recreation management software.
