Quarry Operator

About The Role

The Quarry Operator position is a multi-skilled role responsible for mining operations.

• Operation of mobile equipment required to mine rock (e.g., rock drills, wheel loaders, bulldozer, haul trucks and water trucks, motor grader, fuel tanker, hydraulic rock breaker).
• Promotes Amrize U.S. Safety guidelines and standards, ensuring that safety and compliance requirements are met and followed on customer job sites.
• Perform mechanical maintenance check-outs, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, and do minor preventative maintenance on mobile equipment.
• Monitor and react to quality issues (e.g., sample drill holes, monitor quality feedback information, and adjust mining pattern as necessary).
• Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• 1 year of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Ideal candidates would have experience operating mobile equipment.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
