Engineering$25–$31.5/hrFull-time
Kelly is currently looking for a Quantity Survey Technician at Midland MI 48674 location for a long-term contract. Title: Quantity Survey Technician Location: Midland MI 48674 Contract length: 18 month. Pay range: $25 – 31.50/hr. Schedule: Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Limited flexibility available. No anticipated overtime. Position Overview This is a highly visible, field-based role supporting audits, corrosion management activities, and fleet/fuel program administration across a large industrial manufacturing site. The manager describes the position as a "jack-of-all-trades" role requiring strong field presence, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a chemical plant environment. Key Responsibilities Perform unit rate audits for scaffolding, painting, insulation, and maintenance-related projects to verify supplier billing accuracy and work quality. Conduct field assessments of piping, tanks, and plant assets as part of the site's corrosion management program. Evaluate and categorize corrosion conditions to support maintenance planning and budgeting activities. Complete ongoing site inspections and reassessments throughout the year. Support administration of the site's vehicle fleet and fuel management program. Maintain tracking data and reporting using Excel-based tools and systems. Ideal Candidate Profile The hiring manager is seeking candidates with a strong field orientation rather than individuals who prefer primarily office-based work. This role requires frequent time spent outdoors and throughout operating chemical plant environments. Preferred Backgrounds Chemical plant or industrial manufacturing experience. Maintenance Planner experience. Experience with scaffolding, painting, insulation, or construction-related projects. Exposure to corrosion management, coatings, asset integrity, or inspection programs. Familiarity with piping systems, tanks, and industrial equipment. Experience Requirements Targeting candidates with approximately 2-5 years of relevant experience. Entry-level candidates with no industrial experience are unlikely to be successful. Highly experienced candidates may exceed the project's budget range. Highly Desired Qualifications NACE certification or similar coatings/corrosion certification (not required but considered highly valuable). Experience performing measurements, inspections, audits, or quality assessments. Knowledge of industrial paint and corrosion prevention programs. Critical Soft Skills Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively with both company employees and contractor partners. Comfort working independently in the field. Willingness to learn site-specific hazards and operational requirements. Physical & Work Environment Expectations Significant field work throughout the year, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Frequent travel across the Midland site utilizing company fleet vehicles. Standard industrial PPE required, including safety boots, gloves, hard hat, and potentially FR-rated clothing. Screening Requirements Candidates Must Successfully Complete Site background screening requirements. Drug and alcohol screening. Great Lakes Safety Training site onboarding. Interview Process One-round interview process. Small panel interview may be utilized with the hiring manager and one or two team members.
