Quantitative Trader
The Role
Virtu is seeking Quantitative Traders to design, operate, and improve high-performance algorithmic trading strategies. During a period of mentorship and training, candidates will learn the intricacies of the trade flow process and eventually integrate into strategy deployment and operation. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate with software engineers to enhance and develop the firm's trading strategies.
Quantitative Traders must possess excellent academic backgrounds, particularly in hard sciences such as computer science, math, physics, statistics, and related fields. They should demonstrate outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude, along with programming experience in Python, SQL, Java, or C++. Communication skills, the ability to identify issues, and the capacity to work independently and within a team are essential. Prior experience with trading, strategy games, or poker is helpful but not required.
Requirements
- Excellent academic background, particularly in hard sciences

- Programming experience in Python, SQL, Java, or C++
- The ability to communicate information precisely and with agility
- A physicalizer with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team
- Team player with authentic, genuine qualities capable of working towards collective goals
- Prior experience with trading, strategy games, or poker is helpful but not required
- No finance background is necessary
