Vacancy Now Hiring Quantitative Senior Research Fellow Band: Band 7 Contract: Fixed Term Duration: until 30.09.2028 Hours: We welcome applications for a minimum of 30 hours per week up to full time (37.5 hours) Job Location: The post is based at the Bradford Institute for Health Research, Bradford Royal Infirmary. The successful applicant will be expected to work on-site in Bradford for a minimum of three days per week Closing Date: 31/08/2026 Interviews Start: 17/09/2026 We are looking for a researcher who can work with policy-makers and researchers to identify priority research questions and lead complex quantitative analyses using large longitudinal and routine health and education datasets to answer these questions. Born in Bradford (BiB) is an internationally recognised research programme that works with families, the NHS, local authorities and communities to improve health and reduce inequalities. We are seeking an experienced quantitative researcher to join our Family Inequalities Research (FaIR) team based within BiB. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new Population Research UK (PRUK)-funded collaboration between Born in Bradford, the University of Liverpool and Imperial College London, helping ensure that the UK’s longitudinal population studies answer the questions that matter most to policy-makers. Main duties of the job We are looking for an experienced researcher who can confidently work with policy-makers and researchers to identify priority research questions and lead complex quantitative analyses using large longitudinal and routine health and education datasets to answer these questions. Candidates will have a postgraduate qualification in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or related subject, experience analysing large health or longitudinal datasets, strong statistical programming skills and excellent communication, organisational and collaborative working skills. This is an opportunity to work with one of the world’s richest longitudinal population datasets, influence national policy, collaborate with leading UK universities, and contribute to research that delivers real-world impact for children and families. The post is based at the Bradford Institute for Health Research, Bradford Royal Infirmary. The successful applicant will be expected to work on-site in Bradford for a minimum of three days per week.
