Quantitative Analyst SR (Power Markets Forecasting & Pricing)
At ENGIE, we accelerate the energy transition by blending deep analytical expertise with strategic foresight. As a Senior Quantitative Analyst, you'll significantly influence how ENGIE forecasts, prices, and manages its retail power portfolio.
You'll collaborate closely with portfolio management, risk, and commercial teams to refine forecasting models, tackle production issues, and ensure analytics drive daily operations and business outcomes.
Your work will span model development, production support, and translating complex insights into actionable reports and visualizations, enhancing ENGIE's analytics capabilities and scalability.
What You Will DoBuild, maintain, and enhance quantitative models for pre-trade forecasting, pricing, and portfolio management across various power markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, NYISO).
Partner with senior analysts to turn prototypes into robust, scalable solutions used in daily operations.
Own and improve analytical workflows related to pricing and portfolio performance, ensuring accuracy and reliability under tight deadlines.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and risk metrics, aligning forecasts with business and commercial goals.
Support and maintain tools like budget tracking and margin forecasting, comparing performance against plans and identifying variance drivers.
Investigate and resolve production issues, including data discrepancies, model drift, and reconciliation gaps, to ensure system stability and continuous improvement.
Collaborate across teams to communicate complex analytical outputs clearly and effectively, improving reporting and decision-making processes.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar), with 5+ years of relevant experience in analytics, modeling, or quantitative roles.
Strong experience with Excel and Python-based modeling, capable of building, debugging, and improving production-level analytical models.
Demonstrated experience in forecasting, pricing, risk, or portfolio analytics within a business or operational setting.
Ability to manage work in production environments, troubleshoot issues, validate outputs, and ensure data integrity under time-sensitive conditions.
Experience with structured data and large datasets (SQL or similar tools), supporting end-to-end analytical workflows.
Understanding of financial or commercial concepts (margin, forecasting, budgeting, performance tracking) and their impact on business decisions.
Effective communication skills to convey technical outputs in clear, structured insights for non-technical stakeholders.
This role adheres to ENGIE’s hybrid in-office work policy and requires up to 10% domestic/international travel and some overnight trips.
