Quantitative Analyst - Risk
About the role
The Quantitative Analyst will support the development, enhancement, and validation of fixed income risk models. This role requires a deep understanding of fixed income markets, market risk, and model research.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and optimize fixed income risk models.
- Design and produce model performance metrics, analytics, and reporting for internal stakeholders and regulatory audiences.
- Conduct quantitative research to support model development and validation efforts.
- Independently analyze, format, and validate results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Monitor model performance and identify opportunities for enhancement and refinement.
- Support risk management initiatives through rigorous quantitative analysis and data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate findings and model behavior effectively.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years of hands-on experience in quantitative modeling, research, or risk analytics.
- Strong understanding of fixed income products and market risk concepts.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related field.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative research skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Value-at-Risk (VaR) modeling.
- Knowledge of U.S. Treasury securities, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), and fixed income pricing models.
- Familiarity with SQL and data analysis tools.
- Experience working with model governance, performance monitoring, or regulatory reporting frameworks.
